I received a BA from the University of Vermont with a major in studio art. I then received a Masters Degree in special education. For 30 years, I integrated art into the early childhood special education programs I taught. I found it to be one of the most important tools to facilitate a child's self expression and understanding of the world.
Art is one of the many threads woven together to form this artists life. A glass palette is the most recent pursuit. The subjects depicted in my latest work, are inspired by the 20 years I lived in the Lake Champlain Islands of northern Vermont.
Working without a sketch, each piece evolves and goes where the glass leads it. Glass is adhered to a clear surface, then grouted. Light going through the glass, or being reflected off the glass, continuously changes ones perspective when viewing each piece.
