Christa Marquez specializes in woodcut prints, ink on paper and clayboard.
She received her BFA from The University of Kansas and works as freelance illustrator. Marquez has enjoyed opportunities as Artist-in-Residence with The Venice Printmaking Studio, Venice Italy and Penland School of Crafts, Penland NC and received the Romanos Rizk Scholarship from The Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) Provincetown, MA to study white line printing with Kathryn Smith. Marquez's printmaking and teaching experience includes positions with: Penland School of Crafts, Penland NC; The Provincetown Art Association and Museum School, Provincetown MA; The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg VA; The Peninsula Fine Arts Center: Healing Arts Program, Newport News VA and the School of Art, Williamsburg VA.
Inspirations include travel and the history of printmaking. Marquez is represented by Tamarack Gallery, Omena MI and The Taos Artists Collective, Taos NM and has exhibited in New Mexico, Washington DC, North Carolina and Massachusetts.
